Hi guys it's Bryce. Mom realized today that the two acres of empty meadow we have is not being used to its fullest potential. She has decided that she wants to grow a "commercial" crop that is easy to grow, and would still allow me to have some part in, with my tractors of course. :) Here are our two crop options, ( so I have been told ): Catnip, or Lavender. These are the only two plants that we can grow in our climate that are easy to care for, and that the deer WILL NOT touch. However, mom thinks that we are two wet for lavender, I agree, so that leaves Catnip. My question is, how would you recommend we harvest it? I can handle plowing, planting, and growing, but I am not going to pick each stem by hand! I was thinking to harvest it just like hay, mow, rake, bale? My other question is keeping it growing. From what I have been told the plants will die out at the end of their second season, will I have to plow and replant, or will they continue putting out new off spring? Please let me know what you guys think! Thanks, Bryce

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
