A little fuzzy math there. "63% of the population is in the work force. 20% work for the government leaving 43% to pay the bulk of taxes." Those 20% working for the government pay the same taxes as the 43%. Got to praise my county leadership here in Lavaca County, Texas. They just cut property taxes 20% for next year because the Eagle Ford shale oil boom is expanding the tax base. Instead of just spending the extra they are giving land owners a break and reducing taxes.
