I appreciate it guys. After some study work, I really do not think strawberries are for me. I have some specific criteria I want to meet to make it work for me. Strawberries are highly perishable, VERY labor intensive, and price/acre just does not justify it unless I plan to run a sweat shop.
We are highly technical here by nature (engineering) and even setting up a lab for some other work we are doing. the main issue is I have another 35-37 acres of ground that has to do something. I am hoping I have a plan right now but it still requires grain bins which I do not have.
I was doing some pricing and actually, I think we can design and concrete pour our grain bins cheaper than we can buy them. My brother does have a PE license so we can sign off our own plans. There is still a lot of time involved there but I am only needing maybe 5000cf bins. Would probably design to add in the vertical if needed.
