I farm full time. I have to FILE and PAY by March 1 or pay a penalty. I would imagine that you'll have to file by March 1 PERIOD,if you don't pay quarterly estimates. That includes filing for your off farm income too.
That COULD change if you have a refund coming that is somewhere near what you owe for the farm income. An expert will have to tell you. I'll just say this,for a few years after I quit milking and the wife was working,making good money,she had a good refund coming and I didn't owe much,so we DIDN'T have to file by March 1.
