All those questions you have asked can be answered by a CPA that does taxes for farmers. When I had rental property I had a CPA to do my taxes. You need to keep good records. They can also tell you if you need to file taxes quarterly. I still pay state and federal taxes quarterly and I'm retired. When I retired from the government I had 90 days of vacation known as annual leave. One of my retired co-worker's told me to get a CPA to file both federal and state tax returns since he was penalized waiting until the end of the year to file.
