I used to reduce the pressure in the tires for better traction when plowing. The tires were old but looked good so I couldn't understand why I had a flat tire every year and had to get the tubes patched. Third time my mechanic told me that even though the tires looked fine they had fine cracks on the inside not even visible but the cracks would open up when driving and would pinch the tube. I should either run a higher pressure or get new tires. So I bought new tires and kept plowing with a low pressure. Never had a flat tire since.
