We have a hotspot with unlimited data. Our cell company had data limits so we went with another company that offered better. Did require a signal booster for their signal, but the booster doesn"t care which signal(s) it boosts. No more dropped calls.
A smart phone for tethering is similar but we decided the hot spot was preferable as the phone was voice priority. Get a call and you lose whatever you were doing online.
