Been a long time since THOSE things happened at a gas station around here. Remember when I was a youngster, my folks came home after a trip where the washed their windshield and dried it off with an oily shop rag. Wasn"t a problem until the lighting changed in the evening, and the oily film started making visibility awful. Guess they stopped somewhere and got a bottle of window washer fluid to cut the film. Actually was quite a while before they got it all properly cleaned.
Then there was the on going problem of when the attendant was careless about latching the hood. This was before the put double latches on "em. Imagine going down the road at highway speeds and having the hood come up right in front of you. Hopefully, the wind didn"t cath the hood and wrap it across the windshield!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
