Sounds like the hay was fit to bale. The dust out of the baler is one of the surest signs it's dry. The dew shouldn't hurt them if the bales are at all tight it won't make it into the bale. Hay buyer told me hay will heat 3 days and 3 weeks after it's baled if it's going to heat. Check it every 3 or 4 days sticking a couple fingers in the cut edge of a few bales.
