What would cause the left power sliding door on an '05 Dodge Grand Caravan to close to within about 4", then reverse and open back up?
I know this is an ongoing problem with Chrysler T&C and Dodge Caravans. In fact, one time the right door on my wife's T&C did the same thing, and after I slammed it shut manually it worked normally again and has since.
On the Dodge, the vehicle has just been detailed, everything is clean, no obstructions, nothing bent, etc. I bought this thing for my own use 'cause with my beat up back it's a heckuva lot easier to get in and out of than a passenger car. And for the way I anticipate using the vehicle I'll rarely use this door, so it's no big deal if I need to shut it manually. Everything else on the vehicle, including the right door, works as it should.
I bought the vehicle from a Chevy dealer I've bought from regularly over the years, and for the price I bought it for the dealer didn't seem to be too anxious to become involved in a known Mopar problem. It actually entered into negotiations on the price.
