People love to complain about the profit the oil companies make, but consider this- The oil companies invest in massively expensive refineries, exploration, etc, hire a lot of people, supply them with pensions, etc. and collect about 9 cents per gallon of gasoline. Meanwhile, here in my state the FEds and State collect 70 cents on every gallon of gas sold with ZERO investment, ZERO risk, ZERO effort and the they tax the oil company AND the guy buying the gas income too!!!
Just who is getting rich?
BTW- $3.86 here yesterday for the cheapest stuff i could find. Corner store is $4.22 for watery 87 octane/10% ethanol.
