I googled maps and checked out the satelite image of my old stamping grounds a while back,I grew up just over the state line in enfield, East longmeadow was on the other side of the line and the Conn State prison farm was just across the lake from our house the prison farm looked pretty much unchanged but the large tobacco farm that was over the line in East longmeadow and stretched into Enfield Conn was all housing development. The prison property was once a Shaker village,I was glad to see the old Shaker barns were still there. They stopped farming years ago because it is cheaper to buy what they need then use prisoners to farm the land. i don't get it.
