We're still trying to get hay in - (using that new Holland super 66 by the way!) So haven't had two seconds to look at the tractor yet.
I'm also not up on the John Deere terminology for the B's - it's got some kind of lift in the back - apparently operated by a foot pedal under the seat towards the back (two pedals one left, one right, but attached to each other).
Not sure about the frame either. Will be digging into the tractor soon though.
I should have mentioned in my post that he also gave us a full set of cultivators (the frame you see in the picture - plus all the other parts) - a number 5 sickle mower - a buzz saw - a set of plows (that has another whole belly frame to mount) - a snow plow and wheel weights and tire chains. It was a huge donation for our small club!
Our goal is to restore the tractor to like new and probably use it with the sickle mower. Right now we mow with the farmall Super A & sickle mower that the club restored.
(and when I say we mow with it - not the "real" haying - I'm referring to the 4H club's hay, like 200-300 bales a year - on some town owned land - not a lot of mowing so a sickle mower's fine. But even so, would be nice to go twice as fast with two tractors mowing!)
We do have a small 4h garden - and have been considering the possibility of enlarging that with a tractor with plows/cultivators - but not sure yet.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
