The 40 was not built untill I think 61 and that is what is called a Hi-Lo 45 and they did not come out also I think untill 61 and 63 was the last year for them and in 64 went to the square back models. The earlier 45 was called a Hi model. And the 210 corn head that is on it came out for 62 and the older head was a 10 head. I had both a 62 & 63 in the round back and a 65 & 69 in the square back models and the 210 corn heads plus a 234 and later 313 head for them. And that grill screen for the radiator should have been lifted up from storage position before opperating in the field. He probably had a plugged radiator.
