OK, this is getting to me. I was hoping someone had heard about this as a kid. I know darn well I didn't imagine it; When I was well before a pre-teen I had heard that the nick name for the horse was 'Maggie'. I have been searching in vain but cannot find any other record of it. I had no inkling at the time but only learned recently that back in the 30s Mobil Oil bought the 'Magnolia Petrolium Company' whos logo was the flying red horse (AKA Maggie for Magnolia Petrolium?) and Mobil adopted the trade mark. I never knew where 'Maggie' came from but the story kind of made sense.
