What's wrong here is that you are making excuses for why you can't support your children's education. The problem with education is not only NCLB and politicians calling the shots rather than the teachers, but it's parents using the educational system as a scapegoat for their own poor parenting skills!!!!!!!! My parents were working class people, they both worked 8-10hr days each, they took care of the lawn, took out the garbage, cooked dinner, coached sports, took us (my sister and I) to boys scouts, dance lessons, etc... and they still found the time to be interested, encouraging, and strict about my education while ensuring that my 45 minutes of HW was finished daily...I now have 3 college degrees and a successful career, my sister has a successful career working for the local hospital and it's all because mom and dad CARED about our education, supported us, never let us slide by, and didn't make EXCUSES when it came to our learning!!!
