Just put in a new rod, check the wrist pin tolerance, the rod bearing tolerance , and away you go...However keep in mind thast alll engine components wear . and therefore the bore being worn and the piston also, by replacing the rod and bearing, you are tightening up the lower end and therefore you may get an upper cylinder knock called piston slap. this would be especially true in a multi cylinder water cooled engine , and may very likely not even be noticable in an air cooled single cylinder engine..hope all is well DON
I agree, also I would want to know why the rod broke in the first place.
