To start, we had very few drop out of HS. Both that did, well, they have done well for themselves.
To wit, our first schoolyear in the country, going to a rural school, the schoolbus driver, Art, made it known to all the parents that he runs a tight timeline for pickup of kids. He also made sure he knew how many kids were to be at each stop. He took his own time before the beginning of the school year to talk to the parents of each bustop.
Art tolerated little on the bus as far as goofing around. My Dad said to Art, in front of all of us kids, if one my kids is getting out of line, and you need to, kick them off the bus, point them which direction is home, and then give me a call...there is little that you can do to them in comparison to what they will receive when they get home(or something really close to that but probably more intensely stated).
