I work in retail but have also been on the other side of the counter needing assistance. I always try to get the right information and do my best to get the customer what they need unless I can tell they're just wasting my time. This doesn't happen very often but sometimes you get a person who wants prices on everything you have in the store and a bunch of stuff you don't keep in stock, asks a million questions and you know they're not actually interested in buying anything. Usually happens when there's other people waiting and/or near the end of the day when you're trying to finish up so you can go home.
The thing I really hate as a buyer is the guy behind the counter not knowing what you're talking about but instead of trying to find out or getting someone who knows, they try and fake it. There's nothing wrong if you can't answer every question a customer has but don't try to impress the customer with a load of BS to try and make yourself look good. 99.9% of the time the customer is realizing what a total fool you're making of yourself.

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
