Those are nice trucks. They are slow, but sure can do work. Parts are pretty easy, lots of surplus dealers. Engine parts are all available from NAPA for a complete rebuild. That motor doesn't have much horsepower, about 100, but there is lots of torque, and not too much you can do to make more power. They are reliable and tough engines, I have cars with the same engine and make many road trips in them. With the brakes, be sure everything is 100% right, and it not done recently, replace all the hoses and any rusty lines, along with rebuilt master and wheel cylinders for worry free travel.
