Well, I wanted a front loader for the water savings so our 70 year old (or more) septic and leach field did not have to work so hard.
Wife did not want a Front loader under any circumstances period. Everyone we new had nothing but problems with them.
So that left Staber (an very unique and simple no name washer designed to be worked on and serviced by customer). Staber uses a unique rotating basket in a top load design but uses even less water than most side loaders. We went to the factory in Columbus, OH for a tour. Wife was not convinced as it is a neat unit but does have some quirks.
GE also came out with the Infusor line (Infusor replaced a traditional agitator inside their machine). The GE is a topload that used slightly more water than a side loader but much less than any other toploader made except for the Staber. We ended up with a set of these GE. Units have been problem free and have been used extremely heavly for the past 6 years. Our one dog 90lb was very sick the last year of his life and my wife was washing all his bedding daily (blankets, bed pads, etc.).
I will forewarn you the GE makes some unusual sounds but the manual even forewarns you about them. You can get the dryer with a plastic tub or a stanless steel tub (we opted for stainless).
If and when these eventually wear out then I will be buying another set.

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
