Been awhile but I had an '88 Ford P/U and the power window failed...internal parts stripped...motor ran but window didn't move. Did some work as others stated and got the thing out. Took it apart and some necessary parts inside the gearbox were made of plastic. I Had some wooden dowel rod of the same diameter and cut it to fit. Screwed it back together, reinstalled it and it worked fine.
