My wife and I did an Alaska cruise five years ago on Royal Caribbean. I have a couple of pieces of advice: First, pay the extra for a cabin on the outside. Second, many of the stops will be brief, only a few hours. The cruise line will sell you various excursions at each stop, many of which are quite good. But they may not warn you if you buy two excursions at times that overlap so you can actually only take one of them. Only take those excursions you really want to do.
Like with any cruise, there's a ridiculous amount of food available. Eat carefully and you'll feel much better for it.
