I've always preferred GM vehicles to anything else. I find their seating to be sooooo much better than anyone elses. It makes little sense to me why Ford and Dodge can't make comfortable seating, or won't make it.
Despite my brand loyalty, I can not forget that the stock holders at GM got the shaft. That was wrong IMO.
I'm on the look out for a truck. 3/4-1 ton, extended cab or crew cab since it's going to be our 2nd vehicle and needs to haul the family, 4x4 isn't a necessity but would be nice, I'm ambivalent on diesels- take 'em or leave 'em- and sort of prefer to stick with singles instead of a dually. Oh, and it's got to be used and not a rust bucket. What I see is a lot of GM's with new trannies and engines, Fords with new engines, Dodges with new trannies and diesel parts. I honestly don't know what to look for anymore. The truck needs to haul feed, tractors, livestock. No long haul stuff, pretty much everything is within a couple hundred miles. I've seen everything from 20 year old trucks going for $12-14K to 20 year old trucks at $2K. So I come to forums like this and just get more confused. It appears it's all a shot in the dark.
I wish my 91 Toyota had been a 3/4 ton and not rusted out! 300K and no problems!

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
