I have a 1970 or so 580 CK, the differential lock on mine is on the right side. I replaced the seal on the left side. That side has more room to work. It might be a similar job just more room on one side, don't know for sure.
The shaft the seal is on is splined part of the way then turns smooth with a grove at the transition from spline to smooth. Same or close shaft diameter all the way. To put the seal on the shaft without wrecking the seal I wraped one layer of one or two thousandth thick brass shim stock around the shaft and scotch taped it to hold it in place. That is what worked for me.
