I believe Edd in KY just about nailed it. Everyone has their own recipe. In addition to all the vegetables that he mentioned, I add a good handful of okra. I have also heard of diced sweet potatoes being added. If you need a little more beef flavor, you can always throw in a bullion cube or two.
