In honor of Veteran's Day, we want to acknowledge Bonnie's uncle, Blaise Clement (Chief, USN Retired). Uncle Blaise is 97 and going strong. (I wish I had is blood pressure). If you can get him to talk, (he's a very quiet and humble man), he would tell you that he was off the coast of Hiroshima and witnessed the bomb blast. Or he might mention that he was exposed to 70 times the normal radiation when he was in the Bikini Islands. Or as a child he was accidentally "knocked overboard by a fat lady" on the ship that brought him and his family over from Italy. He was able to grab the anchor chain and hold on until the deck hands pulled him back on board. (Poor fat lady was terrified). He is a joy to our family and loved by all who know him.
