Thanks John it has been a long time comming for some of to get the thanks we deserved for our time in the service of the US. I almost lost my life life twice while serving aboard the USS FORT MARION LSD 22 I never thought much about it then but now I know how lucky I was to service those years a long time ago. I have been watching the big storm that hit the Philipines last week and it brings back the memories of our 5 day ordeal in fighting a like storm with 200 MPH wind. It was just another storm back then but now I realize just how lucky we're to service it. So it really makes me proud that I served for all of us to have come though the Cold War and more. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
