I'm not a fan of putting a loader on a tractor. If you want a good loader, you need to get one that was designed from the ground up as a loader. Which usually means you need to get a backhoe.
I had a post about neighbor who bought a new BX23 Kubota with a loader and hoe attachment. Neighbor thought he was buying a backhoe. I got to checking his loader can only lift 460 pounds, which is about a half scoop of dirt. The BX23 is diesel rated at 23 hp. My terramite is 20 hp gas. It is rated at lifting 1700+ and can lift a greater distance. Both are hydrostatic, which is needed for a loader.
I said I could run circles around the BX and that offended the Kubota people.
I've never seen a BX at a diy rental, but I've seen lots of T5C's. Why do you think that is? The terramites are more expensive too.
Both the BX and T5c are rated as sub compacts. One is made from the ground up and industral, while the other is a garden tractor with removal attachments.
I know a few farmers who shopped around and got a good cheap used case hoe and are happy. If I ever need a bigger hoe, that's what I would do.
