You can put all the shields on your bush hog you want but if you do not have it set up right for your tractor you still will be in danger of being hit by some object flying out from the front of the cutter.
Pull your tractor onto a level surface and lower the bush hog to the ground. The rear of the cutter should be level with the front as they contact the ground and should stay that way when you move forward. do not be tempted to raise the spinning cutter because you are going over rough or stonny ground or you will lift the front of the cutter and expose the operator to flying objects thrown from under the machine.
Remember the way a 3 point hitch works is that when you raise the implement the front tends to lift first, leaving the impement sloping from the front to the rear and with a brush cutter the front is up leaving an openning for any object thrown from by the blades to strike the tractor or operator. The only safe way to use a rotary brush cutter is with the machine flat on the ground period...
