Thanks to all who suggested binding pins on the trailer brakes. Greased it all and beat on it and bit and it works good.
The elevator had room for a few beans so off to the elevator first thing this morning with the Ford L8000 and trailer. That's the one that just came out of the shop with a new $4500 pump. Got a mile down the road and it died. The wire going to the shutdown solenoid broke off at the case. Jacked the full trailer up on the highway and pulled the semi home with the 8430. Got the Freightliner and hooked it up on the highway (after unhooking its full trailer in the shed). Got to the elevator and they said they had room for the other trailer and straight truck. Went and got the truck and took off to dump it. Smelled gas on the way home - sediment bowl is leaking. Parked it and swapped out trailers again and went back to the elevator. Got back home and tore into the truck. Bypassed the sediment bowl and put in a stand alone fuel filter. Added some snake oil since the rear main seal is spewing oil. It really needs to last one more week.
Went back to the Ford and pulled off the solenoid. Soldered a pigtail on the hot side and put it all back together. Fixed! Hooked her back up to the trailer so it is ready.
Took off to town for more medicated crumbles for a sow with the snots. Don't need pneumonia.
Buttoned her all up and now it is lightening in the north.
Any more days like that and I will be DONE. It is tight shoe night and I can't even think about cleaning up.
