Now if you listen closely to the sound on films, of drum beat that is passed off as music,you will see what I mean. Rap is another fiasco that is all the cheap redundant sound that is considered "HIP".Basie was the master of big band composers and arrangers, along with Sinatra's arranger and conductor(Nelson Riddle) . Really some great masters that still arrange for films (Jerry Goldstein's) ect. I seldom ever listen unless the conductors/ composers are listed on the credits preceding the film. Again, it's JMHO.
