Always have had a dog around. The last one, after the kids were all gone, was the wife's friend and companion for over a decade. After that, she said no more. Too much pain letting it go. Fine with me. So now we have this pretty orange and white neutered male cat. He likes to ride on my shoulder, and in general loves all the comforts of home. But he also likes to hunt. Chipmunks are his favorite challenge. A few days ago he is out here chewing on a very meaty hind quarter of a decent sized creature with a large rat like tail. We were puzzled. Last night the wife opens the front door to find the cat has a possum(bigger than the cat) against the front step. Then the possum takes off, with the cat right behind. Not being a hunter/trapper I don't know these things. There's plenty of road kill possum now. Is this their favorite time of year? Would there be young ones this time of year? We were thinking at the time maybe he was chewing on a young possum.
