Ok, mounted, and or mid mount/hitch, with enough under the belly that if run over by the rear wheels, forced it up. Thats one of those things where a .25 cent pin or similar, causes a bad situation, seems to be very common with farm equipment, and even the best maintained, looked after by an experienced hand. I can think of a number of these things that have happened over the years. Sure sounds like someone was watching over, given how it happened and the results, can't imagine being caught by surprise like that, and living to tell about it.
