Corn to hide in is gone, gunshots too. They are on the run. I got a doe good a couple of years ago, did a lot of damage to the front of one of my pickups. She wrapped around from the center of the grill with one of her hooves getting the passenger door. Almost got a huge doe last night again, but on the brakes hard and she cleared and kept going. Had one on the property a couple of years ago that was missing a front leg from a car or truck I assume. She was pregnant and gave birth and fawned in the tall grass near my woods not far from one of their bedding areas. She hobbled around for the better part of a year with her fawn, then disappeared. I figure probably yotes might have gotten her eventually.
Anyway, 'tis the season on deer one way or another.
