When I go out to buy a new car I start early. I go in and find what looks like the newest salesman in the bunch. Tell him I am interested in X car; one I found at another dealer that I have no interest in. Tell him give me your lowest price first time because I do not negotiate. No matter what he says I say thanks but dealer X gave me a lower price on the same car and get up to walk out. This will usually get you the manager in charge. I explain to the manager that I asked for your lowest price and you gave it to me. I do not negotiate so we have nothing more to talk about because dealer X gave me a lower price on the same car. I explain that he may get another chance to sell me a car because we may be replacing the wife's car also in a few months and walk out. If he every calls back I tell him I told you I do not negotiate and have bought already from dealer X. I do this at 3 or 4 dealers.
I give it a few months then find the car I want online threw dealer inventory search. When I walk in the dealer I ask for Mr so and so (the manager) When he shows up I ask remember me. Time to replace the wife's car so give me your lowest price. I do this at all the dealers I talked to using the same car. You will be surprised. One of them will be so upset from losing the previous sale (that really never happened) he will come back with a very low price just to show you he can out bid anyone else.
I had one salesman ask me.... What did you tell that manager? He is giving you a lower price than I can buy that car for and I work here.
