How do you quantify the numbers of Cookie Thorntons that didn't kill 6 people because 1 guy shot him when he pulled the gun or the guys that never started shooting because there were armed people nearby. I've had several chances to shoot people, would ave been more than justified. Like most people, I didn't and I'm happy it worked out that way. But there were several occasions where myself or someone I knew being armed stopped a bad situation from getting a lot worse.
You have a choice in life sometimes- be a victim or not. I don't think anyone should be forced to be armed, but neither should any non-criminal/nut job be denied his right to self protection. But you bear the responsibility for which ever choice you make.
