: : I am buying a farmall A to restore and have a choice between two fairly priced ones in the local area. Each is missing some stuff and I basically need to know what's easier to get. : : Tractor #1 needs: drawbar, wheel weights, drum pulley, tires, but has a hydraulic snowplow on it and many original detail parts. : : Tractor #2 needs: air filter with goofy globe thing, manifold, grille, and lights. : : So is it easier to get the big hardware or the little stuff? Are the little things the same as they are on an H? (grille, lights, air filter assy) : : Thanks, : : Nate : If you have a good salvage yard in your area, you will probably be able to get wheel weights, drawbar, and other big heavy parts with relatively little or no damage at a reasonable cost. If the sheetmetal is straight on the first one, that's the one I would choose. I would think that some of the more delicate parts, like the grill and lights would be harder to find in a salvage yard without major damage or rust problems. Have you considered buying both, and having one for each foot? I guess I agree, what's the cost on each though? I just saw a beautiful A with all the above and more. But what is you intent too, do you want to work on it. That snowplow is a nice addition though...
