I am humbled by the support you have given us. Things will get better with some time. There are good things going on in our lives as well as the tough stuff. The key will be to get my wife to focus on the good and have the bad play a diminished part for her.

The fact that my time is not split between my Father and my wife is helping a lot. His receiving care in the assisted living center will be better for both of us, long term. We just see the world differently. My sisters are welcome to take him home with them if they think they can do better. That will never happen as they are too much like him. They are too selfish to be put out like that.

(Funny happening. My brother jumped my sisters about them raising heck about how I was taking care of our Father. He told them they could help chip in for the cost of his care. All of a sudden they thought We where doing a much better job than yesterday. LMAO)

My wife will be getting a soft cast this coming week on her right arm. She will be able to use her arm more then. I think this will help her outlook greatly.

The DIL brought over a sonogram of the twin babies this evening that helped perk the wife up a good bit. She LOVES babies and younger kids. She will be more motivated to work at getting better with caring for some new young ones as a goal.

I am getting in the grove of house hold chores again. It has been a long time since I had to do all of it. It is easier this time as it is just the two of us. I had five kids in the mix the last time.

I am getting better at changing her bed sheets as time goes on. Still don"t get the corners to suit her. LOL. I make sure she gets fresh sheets every day and a hot bath every evening before she goes to sleep. I am lucky in that I can easily lift and carry her. If the roles where reversed she would have more trouble.

I am more positive today as well. The Holiday just was depressing.

We do have an appointment at the Mayo Clinic this coming week. I am hoping that they can come up with a plan for her hip.

Rented a BIG conversion van that has room for mattress in the rear. She should be comfortable that way.

I did tease her about how we would have used the van for something different when we where dating 15 years ago. LOL

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
