On the "dash board" directly below the proof meter there is a decal that shows the 4-speed shift pattern along with "540 PTO @ 1500 RPM". The owners manual says 540 pto is at 1800 rpm for 6-speed and 1600 for 8-speed. I have talked to a Ford tractor dealer, his mechanic said that my tractor sounded like an "Economy Model" with only having a 4-speed, no live PTO and no power steering, but again, there is no mention of an "economy model" in the owners manual. However, it does mention live and non-live pto and manual steering. :

The owners manual has specs. in it for a 6-speed and 8-speed tranny. There is no mention of a 4-speed at all. Does anyone know why? I have looked for a high/low lever on the tractor, but there is none. : : The owners manual covers from '68-'75 model years and according to the serial number and unit number on the tractor it is a 1970 model.
