Yeah - I know what you mean about the schools. We have that here, too. Five small towns that used to each have a school, but now are consolidated. That was a loss for the community, but we're getting over it.
Our mail carriers are pretty consistent - once in awhile there's a sub. My son has an auto repair shop, and a rollback wrecker. One of the local carriers had a breakdown near the end of her route. She called him to come get her. They put the mail bag in the cab of the rollback and finished delivering the mail with her car winched on the back. Service with a smile. She is a good customer for him, and he treats her extra special.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
