Guess I got off super cheap then. Back in the early 80s I had mine drilled 100 foot and cost me less then $500. The guy hit water at 15 feet and pumped my lake/spring back wards. The he went down a few feet more and hit a cave then limestone then a 2nd cave then solid rock. Had good water at 75 feet but I told him go to 100. It is cased down around 75 feet. I pump the pump etc in my self so that saved me a good bit

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
