yesterday went to hale,,22 this am in lueyvil ky area .. lost a newborn calf this early am ,,, Saturday am ,it was ,15 here ,,, sumthin happened to the starter on the daily driver case 500 b ,,had 3 good tractors scattered at different places , miles from home ,one on a auger and another on a wheat drill ,, weak batteries on the diesel s that were left here .. ,and a pissy battery charger ,, best charger was at the other farm , roads were ice , had a decent vac and dc in the back of bunch of stuff , I know I could get them started ,,, BUT ,without a loader could not get to either to get them out, ,What a Predicament .. So,, I fed cows up in nice dry barn ,afterall, I knew I had December calf comin , all was well til THAT One decided to calve and wanted her privacy,,.she had the nice bull calve in the snow ,,in the far end of the 3 acre pasture,, durn it ,, there were 2 hay wagons with hay feeding fodder trash out there she coulda at least went to for some shelter,,,.had I started a tractor, I woulda fed bales in the bale ring and set a fodder bale near the wagons ,,, I still would a put serveral squares in the barn ,,,,, the cows woulda reversed their behavior ,, with majority out in the lot , and expectin mama and her best pal or 2 up in the dry barn ,,, winter is showin its a@$ early this yr..
