When I was in high school 1989, I worked for a greenhouse moving plants, construction/maintenance of the property and vehicles. Worked from 4 pm till the work was done sometimes 10pm and weekends putting in 50-60 hours a week. Boss handed out Xmas money to everybody and not everybody got the same. When I opened it I received $20. Seen him and a supervisor later that evening talking in the office, walked in and laid my card on his desk and walked out. Next day the super asked whats up with the $20, said if thats all I'm worth keep it. Same super would have me move the same amount of plants afterschool that the full time 2-3 workers would do all day. I earned my keep and kept the place going. Boss's son was sad to see me leave, said repairs were done before he even knew something was broke and actually kept 40-50 workers(women) talking and got along with all of them. I learned alot at that job 8 years and starting at $2.85/hr. chris
