Putting a tube in the tires and filling it and leaving it over night does about the same thing as the 2X4's if you happen to have tubes laying around. For tires that size, a 2X4 would probably be easier to find than tubes.
I had to do that on a couple of cheap tractor fronts I bought last winter. The bead just wouldn't spread enough to seat the bead not matter what I tried, even with the air blaster tank, so I found a couple of old tubes the right size, put them in the tires, pumped them up so the bead spread way wide and left them sit overnight. The next day when I put them on the rims they seated right up. Jim
