I'm running about 100 Katahdin/Dorper/wool breed crosses and breeding the wool out of them. Have had sheep for about 15 years now. Mine prefer to stay outside except in cold winds or rain, and we've gotten plenty of cold wind this year. My barn is a cold barn, door open for the horses and cattle to come in and get water. I don't herd the sheep, but they know what a feed bucket is. They come in when they want, like last night with wind chills way below zero F.
I keep 2 Pyrenees with the sheep 24/7/365. Last year I lost about 50 lambs and ewes to coyotes. This year I lost 2 that got out of the fence! Samson and Delilah are worth a million bucks to me. Great dogs!
