DH, Being in country makes you eligible for the test only. it doesn't guarantee you will receive an award. From what I've seen, one has to being experiencing one of the symptoms of the various diseases that exposure to AO causes. I was tested about 20 years ago, at that time a fat biopsy was the standard test. I don't know what methods are used by the VA today because I quit going to the VA due to the treatment I received there. I do know this, if you die from an AO related disease, your wife is eligible to receive 1/2 of what the VA awards initially.
