As a teenager I would go into the woods near home and find a cedar tree for Christmas. One year my eyes were bigger than our house. I had chopped down a 12 foot tall tree and brought it home only to figure it would not fit our 8 foot ceiling. Instead of cutting the tree off the bottom I decided to take it off the top and feather out the top of the tree. By the time I had finished the tree was 8 foot in diameter and 8 foot tall . It completely filled the corner of the room and just looked like a green mass in the corner. Mom switched to artificial trees after that.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
