Bought an HD TV back when they first came out, and it was an RCA. This one was NOT a flat panel. It came with a 1-year warranty, and died ONE WEEK after the warranty expired. I contacted RCA to see if there might be any sort of "goodwill" adjustment--not looking for a freebie, but maybe just some consideration [as auto manufacturers sometimes do, since I come from an auto parts background]--and they acted as if I was a crazy man for even asking. Since then I've owned 2 more TV's, and one of THEM was purchased at Radio Shack. It died with a week left on the extended warranty, and Radio Shack couldn't have done any more to give me a replacement TV and make sure I was satisfied.
So, because of the level of customer service I received, my next TV will likely come from Radio Shack...and it won't be an RCA.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
