I just got done putting a starter bendix in the 1600 Oliver. Everything's pretty much up and going again.
What a year for breakdowns! It started in February with the motor going in the wife's pickup. Then the clutches in both big tractors. The splines got ground off of the PTO long shaft in the flywheel of the 1850 Oliver, then the top seal in the steering hydramotor. The spring came unwound on the bottom variable speed drive pulley on the combine,I broke a thousand dollar roller in the round baler that wasn't worth fixing at that price so I bought a different baler. The gearbox went to heck under the mixer on the New Holland grinder mixer a week ago yesterday. Got that back together Wednesday. Then of course there was the usual tires, wires, hoses, belts, wheel bearings, sealed bearings and all the other things that make keeping this stuff running so much fun. And I won't even get in to the problems the weather caused to crops and livestock! Just glad this year is finally about over.
